Steps to Emotional Freedom 

There is no greater freedom than being able to free oneself of one’s patterns of consciousness and emotional patterning.

The 'Emotional Freedom Training' is specifically designed for students of Ren Xue and Yuan Gong, especially for people interested in cultivating the 5 essential qualities of the heart (Yuan Gong level 7 Tong Yuan) and transforming unhealthy patterns of consciousness (Yuan Gong level 8 Ling Yuan). 

The Emotional Freedom training is divided into 2 parts:

(1) UNDERSTANDING AND AWARENESS: learning the role and purpose of emotional feedback in the body-mind; why emotions exist, how they are created, essential foundational emotional and 5 element theory for being able manage and transform emotional energy in tangible, practical ways. This includes a focus on applying the foundational theory to grow emotional awareness, which is in itself the first step in emotional alchemy (transformation).

(2) SOLUTION AND RESOLUTION: learning and applying practical techniques for dispelling and managing emotions which assists in the dissolution of the unhealthy patterns of consciousness. 

Levels 1 and 2 are taught as two separate trainings. Level 1 is a pre-requisite for level 2. 

Level 1A - A Solid Foundation 

Emotional Theory 

In order to manage and master our emotional life, we first need to have a solid grounding in the purpose and function of emotions in the body. This part of the training will focus primarily on the theory of emotions, because solid theory is a pre-requisite for effective practical application of emotional clearing. 

You will learn a range of essential topics including:

  • The purpose, goals and benefits of emotional mastery, in particular in relation to cultivating Xin Ling (heart) consciousness, dissolving unhealthy patterns of consciousness and connecting with the True Self
  • Why being calm and relaxed is your natural state, and how to return to living in this state
  • Where in the body different emotions hide and are stored (different emotions relate with different organs)
  • The 5 elemental forces of nature, how they manifest inside the body, and correspond with different emotions
  • The positive (virtuous) and negative (harmful) cycle of emotions inside the body
  • How and why negative emotions harm the body energetically (Qi) and physically (cells, tissues, organs)
  • The difference between 'primary' (primal) and 'secondary' (thinking) emotions, and why this is critical for reducing fear, and cultivating trust
  • The 5 essential qualities of the heart (Xin) and how patterns of the heart relate with negative emotions
  • The 'chicken and egg' connection between negative emotions and unhealthy patterns of consciousness
  • The instinctive, protective role which emotions play inside your body, and how to evolve beyond needing these survival emotions
  • How a 'heart wall of emotional energy is created, and why it hampers your ability to experience 'trust' and 'openness' and other Xin qualities
  • The 10 most important emotions to pay attention to in order to manage 99% of negative emotions
  • How and when emotional patterning is set up early in childhood, and why this leads to problems later in life
  • Why unhealthy emotional responses become habitual, and what we have to do to change them into healthy responses

Level 1B - Emotional 'Jue Cha'

Growing Emotional Awareness

In this part of the training you will learn how to observe and notice internal emotional feedback inside your body in order to increase emotional 'literacy', as well as deepen your understanding of emotional intelligence.

You will learn:

  • What triggers the 6 most common unhealthy emotions, and how this relates to patterns
  • How to differentiate between different 'families' of emotions and how to locate their energetic responses in your body
  • Why and how negative emotions cause physical harm to the body, turning 'dis-ease' into disease - and how to avoid that happening
  • How to identify unhealthy emotions before they deepen into symptoms
  • How to differentiate emotions in each of the 3 Tan Tiens and why this is useful
  • How to interpret the 'message and meaning' which emotions convey 'without words'
  • Quantum physics and why e-motions cannot be destroyed (but can be transformed)
  • How to accept rather than reject what you are feeling without fear or judgement
  • How to develop your 'witness consciousness' (Jue Cha) so that you are not swept away or overwhelmed by your feelings
  • The intimate connection between emotions and patterns of consciousness, and how by increasing our EI (emotional intelligence) we can help dissolve our patterns
  • How sometimes seemingly 'good' emotions can cause harm, and how to manage these emotions to prevent harm (especially to the heart)

Once you have completed part 1, (which includes integrating and implementing the information in your life over a period of weeks), you are ready to move on to step 2, where you will learn specific strategies for dissolving unhealthy emotional energy in easy, practical ways. 

In this section of the training you will learn:

  • How to identify the root of the emotional response, enabling you to clear the issue at a causal level ('the surface and the deep')
  • Techniques for 'responding' rather than 'reacting' emotionally, so that you maintain your emotional equilibrium, thus avoiding doing harm to your internal cells, tissues and organs
  • How to dissolve negative emotions using witness consciousness and Jue Cha
  • How to stop bottling up and suppressing emotions (which cause harm)
  • A simple 4 step process for identifying and clearing negative emotions in seconds or minutes
  • How to take yourself through the '7 Steps to Emotional Freedom' 
  • The Ren Xue 'CALM' technique for restoring greater peace and calm
  • How to learn to 'respond' rather than 'react' emotionally, and tips for doing so
  • How to express emotions in a safe and healthy way with other people in order to prevent them building up inside to cause harm
  • How to deepen the 'witness observer' consciousness (foundations of Jue Cha)

About Kim

Kim has been studying Qigong since 2000, when she first came across it while looking for answers to heal chronic fatigue (CFS) and clinical depression, which left her unable to work for 10 years. The first step she had to learn was how to clear the backlog of negative emotions which she had unconsciously stored inside her since an emotionally traumatic childhood.
