Introductory Qigong Evening - Hawea - Thurs 6 March
Yuan Gong Qigong Workshops in Queenstown Lakes
Hi!
I'm Kim, and I've been studying and using Qigong for self-healing since 2000, after being diagnosed with various serious health conditions, including CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome), clinical depression, back pain, asthma, chronic allergies and more.
I can honestly say, if I wasn't using the self-help practices of Qigong to manage stress, keep my mind calm, prevent illness and self-heal, I don't know where my health would be!
I invite you to a series of workshops where you can learn these simple self-healing methods too.
Please scroll down for more information on the various Yuan Gong Qigong methods I will be teaching in person in the Queenstown Lakes area, along with upcoming workshop dates.
There will be a mix of introductory evenings, half day and full day workshops.
Tian Yuan 'Heavenly' Qigong
Explanation and demonstration video
Tian Yuan is the first method of nine methods in the Ren Xue system.
Its simple movements are designed to gather pure Qi* (see note on Qi below) from the universe and bring it back into your body to replenish your Qi (energy) reserves.
When the quality and quantity of your Qi is low, you may find yourself experiencing unwanted symptoms such as tiredness, irritability, brain fog, poor sleep, physical pain, stiffness, sore joints, headaches, other symptoms, chronic illness and more.
When the quality and quantity of your Qi is high, you are much more likely to experience good health, clear-thinking, high energy and be in good spirits.
Tian means sky or universe - it refers to the non-physical space in the universe which is in continuous motion and full of potential for change and development. Yuan symbolizes completeness, unity and positive results.

The importance of Qi
Qi can most accurately be described as 'energy impregnated with information'.
'Gong' means to cultivate (improve the quality and quantity of one's Qi).
At a quantum (sub-atomic) level everything in the universe is made of Qi . Qi is smaller than atoms and molecules - Qi is the fundamental building block of everything that is in manifest existence in the universe, including your body.
Most of us unconsciously drain our Qi - our life-force energy. This is why we feel tired at the end of the day (or maybe even during the day!).
You can liken your Qi reserves to money in the bank: it can either be in deficit or abundance.
At the beginning of each life, every person receives a finite quota of 'pre-natal Qi' from our parents. Then during our life we create 'post-natal' Qi from what we eat and drink. Most people are continually in Qi deficit, which is why we get sick, feel tired and irritable, or can't think clearly.
Most people are unaware we can replenish our Qi reserves through drawing in pure, healthy Qi from the universe into the body, where it will be used for self-healing and energy.
Tian Yuan 'heavenly' Qigong draws in Qi from the universe into the body, to improve the quality and quantity of Qi.
Di Yuan 'earthly' Qigong helps us to store the Qi so that it can be used for self-healing and nourishment.
Di Yuan 'Earthly' Qigong
Explanation and demonstration video
Di Yuan is the second of the nine Yuan Gong methods in the Ren Xue system.
It is a simple and easy-to-learn static-standing form which has many benefits including:
- Strengthening the physical body and improving musculoskeletal alignment
- Activating, gathering and storing Qi in the 3 'Tan Tiens' (Elixir Fields and Qi storage centres in the body)
- Opening the neck, shoulders, lower back and hips
- Stilling the monkey-mind and increasing inner calm
