Ancient Wisdom for a Modern World

Uplift your life with Ren Xue Yuan Gong

A Path to Self-Realization, Wisdom and Freedom

Yuan Tze Ren Xue is a holistic system which draws upon ancient wisdom culture, and contemporary philosophy and science, giving you cutting-edge techniques for uplifting your mind, body and spirit.

'Ren Xue' is the overriding system and philosophy of the Ren Xue school of wisdom, and translates as 'human life science': the science of what it really means to be a fully evolved human being. Most people are currently operating at a very low capacity of wisdom and awareness. Ren Xue teaches you how to evolve your consciousness to develop authentic self-realization and wisdom. As you move up the 'ladder' of realization, your mind, health and consciousness expand to levels you may never have dreamed possible. The ultimate goal of Ren Xue is to develop greater and greater levels of self-realization, including the state of 'enlightenment' where one recognizes one's True Self or True Nature.

'Yuan Gong' is the name given to the 9 methods and practices used to still the mind, self-heal the body and evolve your consciousness, allowing you to return to your 'natural' state of inner calm, joy, wellbeing and stillness. Until you have truly (re-)experienced the state of authentic unification of Jing (body), Qi and Shen (consciousness), you are living in an 'unnatural' state, often unconsciously breaking the natural laws of nature and life, which leads to life problems, including sickness and unhappiness. Unification of Jing, Qi and Shen reunites you with your True Self where you whole life takes on new meaning and purpose. Symptoms of illness can disappear, the mind regains its natural state of clarity and creativity, and deep peace and authentic inner joy prevail. You transform and your life is never the same again.

What makes Ren Xue different?

Why is it a path to self-realization and wisdom?

The Ren Xue system is founded on solid principles of theory and practice.

Zi Du, Du Ren - Lift yourself up, then lift others up

The first principle and overriding mission of Ren Xue is 'ZI DU DU REN' which means 'lift yourself up, then lift others up'. In other words, you do the work on yourself, and then you are able and naturally want to help others.

Cultivate the body, Qi and consciousness simultaneously

The second principle is 'two aspects of life cultivation': MING AND XING.

Ming refers to practices or methods which aim to strengthen and improve the physical body and Qi, whilst Xing refers to practices which develop and raise the level of consciousness.

Through practicing both Xing and Ming we address the totality of our being: body, mind and spirit.

An ancient saying which was valued by ancient life cultivators says "Cultivating Ming only, without cultivating Xing, is the number one illness of life cultivation".

In our modern world, there is great emphasis in the fitness industry on developing the body, but without focusing on cultivating one's awareness and consciousness this is a lop-sided effort, and people pay too much attention to physical feats and fitness. Without cultivating the consciousness (which goes waaay beyond just cultivating mental power or will power), we cannot properly grow ourselves into better versions of ourselves.

Ren Xue addresses all levels of our being, because one of the main universal principles it follows is the 'LAW OF TOTALITY'.

When you study Ren Xue philosophies and Yuan Gong methods, you are developing yourself comprehensively in a healthy, balanced way.

The 9 Level Yuan Gong System

Construction of the Yuan Gong 9 Level System

A Methodical Approach

First two methods - Tian Yuan and Di Yuan

The Yuan Qigong system starts with the first two methods (Tian Yuan and Di Yuan) to build up Qi in the whole body and in your Dantians (Qi-centres). They improve and reduce physical problems, enhancing overall health. They also help develop the consciousness, improving its ability to focus and achieve greater clarity.

Third Method - Ren Yuan

After some time, Ren Yuan can be added to strengthen the body and making it supple, and improving circulation. A beginner can also start by practising Ren Yuan and enjoy the benefits of the practice, but later the addition of Tian Yuan and Di Yuan is recommended to make the practice complete.

Fourth method - Xia Yuan

Built upon the practice of the first three methods, Xia Yuan is a method which supports the body's organs. It clears toxins from the major internal organs (lungs, liver, heart, kidneys, stomach etc) on both a physical and emotional level, because negative emotions get stored and trapped in the organs.

Fifth and Sixth methods - Zhong Yuan and Shang Yuan

After practicing the first four methods consistently, a deeper understanding of Qi can be achieved. The next step is to start practising Zhong Yuan and then continue on to Shang Yuan to open the Microcosmic Circuit and the Central Channel. These two methods can have extraordinary effects on health.

Seventh and Eighth methods - Tong Yuan and Ling Yuan

Concurrently, at any stage during the above training process, one can practice Tong Yuan and Ling Yuan (although Tong Yuan must be learned before embarking on Ling Yuan as the former provides a foundation for the latter). Tong Yuan is a method to work on Xin (heart), specifically for cultivating the five essential 'Xin qualities of the heart': trust, openness, love, gratitude and Gongjing (humility and true respect).

Ninth method - Ming Yuan

Ming Yuan is learned and practiced after learning Tong Yuan and Ling Yuan.

The methods fully support each other. Practising Ren Yuan deepens and improves the results achieved by practising Tian Yuan and Di Yuan. Xia Yuan improves the results from Tian Yuan, Di Yuan and Ren Yuan etc. Ultimately, all 9 levels intersect and overlap forming a totality of learning.

Purpose of each method

First Method: Tian Yuan - to gather Qi from the universe to replenish and revitalize your body-mind

Second Method: Di Yuan - to store Qi gathered in the 3 Tan Tiens

Third Method: Ren Yuan - to move Qi in the channels and unblock Qi

Fourth Method: Xia Yuan - to strengthen Qi in the major organs

Fifth Method: Zhong Yuan - to open Ren Mai, Du Mai and the central channel

Sixth Method: Shang Yuan - a continuation of Zhong Yuan to open the central line in the torso, arms and legs

Seventh Method: Tong Yuan - to open the heart and cultivate the 5 essential qualities of the heart

Eighth Method: Ling Yuan - to transform unhealthy habits and patterns of the consciousness

Ninth Method: Ming Yuan - the final method which brings everything together

Ren Xue and Yuan Gong Terminology

Ren Xue translates from Chinese as 'the science of being a true human' - it is the art of cultivating one's mind and body in order to uplift and improve one's life.

Yuan Gong is the system used to achieve this transformation: it is a 9 level system of self-cultivation methods for transforming mind, body and spirit.

'Yuan' means unity, complete, perfect and original. Everything in the universe fits into Yuan - the inconspicuously small and the infinitely large. Yuan also represents the most basic movements of the universe - rotation and spiralling. Yuan symbolises all the beautiful, positive and natural qualities in life.

'Gong' means work, practice or effort. It refers to all the work needed to reach this great life of ‘Yuan’. In other words, Yuan Qigong can be used to achieve a good life in harmony with the basic principles of the universe.

'Qi' means life force, vital energy.

9 Levels / 3 Stages Overview

There are 9 methods (or practices) in the Yuan  Gong system which take you through 3 stages of Ming (body) and Xing (mind) development.

Each Method in Yuan Qigong Guides You Forward, step by step. The methods can be compared to the construction of a multi-storey building.

The first four floors are the methods that lay the foundation for practice. They are all based on movement. Each method processes Qi in its own way and you move forward step by step as you follow the methods.

From the fifth floor onwards the methods continue to advance and consist of "Still Qigong” meditation that is practiced using the consciousness without any physical movements. Practising Still Qigong in the correct way is powerful and effective for developing the consciousness and life as a whole.

The first 4 methods are standing and moving practices, and the next 5 methods are sitting practices.

  • The first 4 methods belong to Ming (physical and Qi) development
  • The 5th and 6th methods are a blend of Ming and Xing Gong
  • The final 3 methods focus on Xing (developing the consciousness).
